On NFL roster cutdown day, QB1 Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, hosted their fourth annual BE the Ball charity event at Topgolf in Tampa. The fundraiser benefits the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. The Baker and Emily Mayfield Foundation aims to raise $700,000 this year, doubling the $340,000 raised over the event's first three years.
Mayfield also discussed the state of the Buccaneers' roster. He expressed excitement for the 2026 season and praised undrafted free agent Jalon Daniels, who secured the backup quarterback role after Tampa Bay cut Jake Browning.
'I'm proud of Jalon,' Mayfield said. 'I think he took tremendous steps from the first time I met him in the offseason to now. Played his tail off, worked hard, worked on the things the coaches wanted him to get done and for him to progress with.'
